• Baryta allows a much broader tonal range with greater detail in shadows and highlights.

HARMAN PHOTO Professional Inkjet Paper has been developed using state-of-the-art photo imaging and paper base technology.

The real photo Baryta base gives true photographic weight and feel to the paper. The imaging technology behind the paper has been extensively researched and the formulation gives an outstanding image quality in terms of extensive colour gamut, excellent tones and archival permanence properties.

Designed for digital fine art printing, HARMAN PHOTO Professional Inkjet Paper is of exhibition and museum quality. The perfect media for limited editions of giclee prints or archival prints. The first paper to be introduced is a neutral Matt product with a Warmtone Matte version to be launched in MAY. Later in the year will see the launch of Gloss and Semi-Matte surfaces.

This Harman Inkjet Paper is designed for use on all leading pigment and dye based ink printers.

Harman Matte Fiber Base MP is an instant dry photo paper with a silica coating for improved archival permanence. The baryta layer gives the prints greater detail and definition, an extended tonal range and the look and feel of real photographic paper. The specially developed anti-curl system ensures the prints remain flat after printing.

• HARMAN Technology Limited, the pioneering professional imaging specialist, has introduced the first professional inkjet media products to incorporate Baryta; an ingredient used in the traditional photography process that has long been credited with providing traditional photographic prints with their inherent definition, tonal range and archival properties.
• HARMAN began developing 100% Baryta products, adapting the technology used in traditional photography to create inkjet prints that shared the essence of real photographic images. By doing this, HARMAN believes it is ushering in the next stage of evolution for photographic inkjet prints.
• Baryta is a coating that sits above the fibre base of the new HARMAN inkjet media, lying underneath the regular active and protective coating layers. The Baryta layer prevents the emulsions soaking into the fibre base, enhancing the detail of images.
• Added to this, the Baryta improves the depth and quality of printed blacks, while also enhancing the whiteness of the fibre base; allowing a much broader tonal range with greater detail in shadows and highlights.
• Although these positive facets of Baryta have been recognized for decades in traditional photography, an inkjet product has never been able to harness them successfully until now.
• To further augment the benefits provided by Baryta, HARMAN is manufacturing the pioneering new media using a thick, heavy paper stock to help recreate the essence and physical attributes of traditional photographic prints.
